Description
I needed a way to mount a fan for cooling, so this is a 120mm 1U 90º fan mount… Some of my SFP modules get really hot but within tolerance. And not sure if it was a fluke but the newest addition SFP module was super hot that the WAN port shutdown for self-preservation. I unplugged the module, let it cool, and attached the small little heatsink that came with it. I have a backup UPS next to my rack with USB ports available. So, not knowing how well the heatsink would work I found a USB powered, 120mm fan with 3-speed inline control from Amazon (affiliate link: https://amzn.to/4l8RLzV ) and modeled up a simple bracket to mount the fan to blow over the SFP ports. To say the temperatures before and after mounting the fan are night and day would be an understatement; and I currently just have the fan at the low setting. ###Print Settings 0.2mm layer height No support No brim Improved strength by wall X4, infill 15% grid Oriented on largest flat side
