Description
This retainer/clamp keeps a male/female 5 pin DIN free hanging connector pair together. Both sides must have the round mounting ears molded into the connector. The 5 pin DIN is commonly used for remotes for sofas & recliners. The Sketchup design file is included. ----------------------------------------------------------------up There are four variations of the retainer/clamp. Rev. A is as close to the (broken) original model as I could get. I had some concerns that the retainer/clamp could pop open so I added some guards. Rev. B changed the angle of the opening and added a bump at the end to help keep the male socket from sliding out. Rev. C added a small indent at the top of the male socket so that the retainer/clamp snaps around the male socket . The opening was changed back to the V of the original. Rev. D is the same as Rev. C but used a different method to generate the indent. As far as I can tell, all four do a good job of keeping the DIN connectors together when the cable/remote is jerked hard.
