Description
A custom heatsink cover designed to accommodate a 50mm fan on the Snapmaker Original toolhead. This mod significantly improves cooling efficiency with minimal thermal impact on the heater block itself. Important Installation Notes: 1. Nut Fitting: Due to the compact design and height limitations, you will need to heat-press (weld) the mounting nuts into the plastic. Ensure they are perfectly aligned so the cover closes tightly. 2. Screw Options: Once the nuts are secured, the fan can be fastened with all four screws. Alternatively, you can use just two screws if you prefer not to perform the nut-welding procedure. 3. Airflow Management: The design ensures air flows freely through the heatsink and the top of the thermal barrier. 4. Thermal Protection: Make sure the airflow is not directed onto the thermal block. If you notice air leaks reaching the block, use insulation to protect it. Compatibility: Theoretically, this cover can be installed on other Snapmaker modules (CNC or Laser), but this has not been tested yet. Files: 1. body.stl: The main lid/cover for the heatsink. 2. limitation.stl: An airflow restrictor designed to prevent air from blowing onto the printed model.
