Description
Silly Shells won't feed properly in magazines if the dart heads stick out past the rim of the shell. Cutting an MXL down to 63mm cuts the foam into two even halves. The 63mm dart sits about a quarter inch below the shell's rim and the other foam half can have a TPU head glued into it to avoid wasted material. With fresh MXL darts I'm averaging 80fps and solid accuracy from the Rifled MXL shell - Accuracy is subpar if you use the smooth walled MXL shells but you do gain 5-10fps. NOTE: MXL darts' outer diameter can vary pretty heavily. The rule of thumb is “snugger dart, faster dart” and that also helps avoid darts sliding forward in the shell causing feed issues.
