Description
THANK YOU https://www.printables.com/@JeepingJohnny for this wonderful model!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This mod changes the Crank Arm shaft to a 8M by 50mm Bolt. Materials: 8M Bolt by 50 MM, two washers, two nuts TESTED -Works Installation instruction for using the Crank arm to draw the 608 Bearings into the frame and fully assembling this mode are NEXT. Install- Press bolt into Crank Arm. Put Crank Arm into Frame opening with one 608 bearing, Washer and Nut. With a wrench on the nut turn the handle to draw the bearing into the Frame. Repeat for second bearing. Remove nut and place Crank Gear on bolt. Replace nut and turn handle to draw nut into nested pocket while holding the Crank Gear stationary. Turn Crank arm until tight. Inside second nut and tighten with Crank arm and wrench on nut. I also have a Handle file for putting a ¼" #20 lock nut nested into the end. This mod cuts down on parts required. Changing it to something you can find at the hardware store. The way the nut is thread it will want to tighten as you crank the handle clockwise. I tested it with a lock washer and found the double nut work better without it. The two washers are necessary so the bolt tightens down on the rotating centers. This 50MM bolt I found also has a shoulder that extends through the bearings making it a complete 8mm shaft. :) Picture 1 - Fully Assembled Picture 2 - Two washers placement Picture 3 - Nested Nut Picture 4 - Second Nut UPDATE 3/6/2026 -Added long Crank Arm. Took the width of the Washer off the Crank Gear for Better Clearance.
