Description
This is a remix of the gear-mounting bolt for the wonderful yarn winder model posted by BGDglider . The original model worked well for me with one exception: each screw that holds the drive and middle gears in place ("gear-screw-shorter-head.stl") had too small of an outer diameter where passing through the bushing of the model “wheel-spacer.stl”, creating unwanted “wiggle room” around the screw and allowing the gears to unmesh and slip under load. This remix modifies the original gear-mounting screw ("gear-screw-shorter-head.stl") in three ways: adds a smooth shank for the section of the bolt in contract with the bushing uses a larger diameter in the smooth shank section to reduce lateral gear wobble (threads remain the same) adds a screwdriver slot to make it a bit easier to tighten or remove the screw All other parts of the original design are the same; see the original design by BGDglider for the model files . The screw can be printed standing up with no supports if positioned so the head of the screw is flat on the build plate. Suggested print settings: infill: 50% layer height: 0.20mm avoid crossing perimeters: true scarf joint placement: Everywhere automatic infill combination: true extra perimeters if needed: true bottom fill pattern: Archimedean chords Speed for non-print moves, travel: 75mm/s
