Add the egg and vanilla extract and mix well. In another bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture until a dough forms. Wrap the dough and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 5 mm thickness. Use the cookie cutter to cut the shape. Place cookies on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake at 180°C (350°F) for 10–12 minutes or until lightly golden. Let the cookies cool before decorating.
