Description
Introduction There is a rumor being spread that hexagons are the bestagons. However, this is fake news because triangles are actually the strongest! If you have extended the height of your KYZ HSW Display Stand and have attached heavy things on top or you just want that engineer-y look, this may be for you. This improves torsional stiffness of the vertical sections of the stand giving it a higher quality feel. Materials Any stiff material (PLA/ABS/PETG, etc) Whilst PLA will be fine for general indoor use, be wary of using PLA if this will be in a hot car, or in the sun on a warm day (especially if it's a dark colour) (The red one in the photos is made with ABS) Print settings Tested with a 0.4mm nozzle. With this: If PETG - use 4 perimeters If PLA/ABS/ASA/PETG-CF/etc. - use 3 perimeters 4 bottom layers and 5 top layers Infill of your choice Print outer walls slowly for a strong part with consistent gloss level If your printer has an auxiliary fan, turn this off - the layer times are already high to ensure each layer is cooled before the next layer, and there are very few overhangs to worry about The rest is up to you General precautions apply for printing large parts - ensure your build plate is clean (wash with hot water and dish soap and dry with a clean towel), add mouse-ears and/or apply some glue in the corners if you often have adhesion issues. Support If you would like to say thanks, please post a make and share here and on socials. You could buy me a few metres of plastic on Ko-Fi otherwise, please post a make and check out my other HSW models in this collection . If you are using these stands as a part of your business and are finding it helpful, please consider buying this price label model to support more projects like this. Remixes with significant changes are very welcome.
