Description

The original model is great, and I’ve printed a lot of them for my kids and their friends. They’re quite sturdy, but the legs still break occasionally. I didn’t want to waste filament by reprinting the whole lizard, so I redesigned the legs to be printed separately and snapped on as replacements for any that break. No supports needed! The part is pre‑supported by design. You’ll need to remove the built‑in supports with a sharp knife , as shown in the pictures. Warning: When snapping the leg on, do it from the top or bottom, as that’s the thinnest part of the joint on the lizard. If your filament is brittle, it may crack when snapping it on. My newer PLA worked perfectly, but one of my older spools broke. In that case, you can gently warm one side of the leg’s clip with a lighter (not too hot!) before snapping it on and, push it slightly together directly afterwards.. Alternatively, you can make the slot slightly wider with a knife, but then it won’t hold as firmly. But if you are gentle, and the filament isn't too brittle, it should work just fine Pre-prepared supports may not work when scaling mode down lower than 100%, because they are designed to be 1 line-width
