Description
The small robotic tracker drone used by Blackbird, AKA the Recon Shell from Marathon 2026. Prints in 5 pieces. The knees on the legs do not bend, but the hips are ball-and-socket joints allowing limited posing. Feel free to remix with more leg articulation! Made from scratch in Autodesk Maya. I apologize for any inaccuracies from the game, as I did not have many good reference images (little guy moves too fast for good screenshots...) Use PLA+, PLA Pro, or Super PLA filament at bare minimum, or ABS or PETG. Regular PLA filament will likely crack the socket cups. Print with supports globally enabled, and ideally with the head sideways as shown in the pictures (to prevent the neck or ball joints from breaking off along the layer lines). Everything snaps together firmly but without too much force. Can be scaled up as needed (default size is roughly equivalent to an adult's hand.) DISCLAIMER: Not a real functional robot. This is purely a cosplay prop or display model. UPDATE 3/28/26: Added an alternative version optimized for TPU filament. Because it's flexible, the joints cannot crack. However, this also means I had to remodel the sockets to be significantly tighter. I would advise against using PLA, ABS, or PETG on this variant, as you need that bit of squishiness to fit the parts together.
