It was a great idea, since anyone with a 3D printer always has spare boxes around. Plus, it avoids printing large storage containers that waste both filament and time. After testing his solution, I noticed there was room for a few improvements. Improvements: I slightly increased the clearance for inserting the base, and added a perimeter wall to keep both the base and the pieces in place. Each piece now has two small pins to help with the initial alignment; once the first layer of pieces is positioned, the surrounding barrier holds the rest securely. This box can store three full sets of pieces stacked.
