Description
Ah the humble Benchy , the first printed model for many in the hobby, much akin to Blender's doughnut, or 'Hello World!' in programming. I have been toying with creating a line of ship kits for years , but could never really think of a satisfying enough method to create the hull, especially the bow, and not just skeletonising it. The outer hull parts on this kit took me a good amount of time and many fried brain moments, and while there might still be room for improvement, it looks the part. There are no instructions of this model just yet, but I am working on some now as the hull might be a little confusing. So go slow, don't pop every part out at once, and have fun! Think of it as a puzzle, using a real Benchy as reference! The forward hull and cabin can be pretty fiddly, but with patience and some wiggling, it should go together fine. Use snips for flush runner cuts. =================== Included is a Frameless variant for those uninterested in the sprue card format (refer to photos for assembly help). Different filament brands may affect tolerances. The model has been tested successfully with Prusament , Bambu Lab , Elegoo , and Hatchbox PLA . If the fit is too tight, I suggest slowing the print down a little, I know I know. You can make it EVEN TIGHTER by increasing the Z-scale by 15% . Print at 0.2mm layer height , there really is no benefit from printing at a higher resolution and it could affect the fit. Makes greatly appreciated, always glad to see them! Happy Printing! =================== Interested in selling?
