Description
Useful Information: Intended material type: Resin 3D printed for accuracy and smooth surface finish Sensor mounting screws: M3x0.50 8mm length (You may need to chase the threads with a small tap) O-Ring: SAE 005 (1/8" ID, 1/4" OD) National Pipe Thread: 1/8" and 1/4" NPT threads available for download as separate models Thread Sealer: Permatex Aviation Form-A-Gasket No. 3 Sealant, RTV, or Anaerobic type gasket maker. Do not use thread sealing tape. Tape relies on a squish fit, which resin prints are not keen on. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN the NPT threads! Depending on how well your resin printer makes the part, some thread flashing may break off during tightening of the NPT fitting. This will pose zero issues if using one of the suggested types of thread sealing methods. This component adapts a standard BMP280 barometer sensor to a pressure fitting so that it can be used for sensing pressure of a system rather than the atmosphere. For instance, this could be used to adapt a BMP280 to a manifold pressure sensor for something like an aircraft. I'm not saying you should, but this component was designed in America, therefore you certainly can. More common applications would be to use this adapter to install an RB-02 altitude sensor (BMP280) into the static pressure system of an experimental aircraft. Note that BMP280 is a barometer, and not designed to measure more than atmospheric pressure. I under no circumstances advise you to use this adapter to retrofit a BMP280 as your air compressor pressure sensor.
