Description

A DIY boat propeller constuction kit with a big scope and variety of shapes based on NACA airfoil data. You can customize the following parameters: diam = 180; // 180, outer diameter [mm] pitch = 180; // 180, pitch [mm] forward on 360° aoa = 4; // angle of attack blades = 3; // 4, # blades r_shaft = 6; // 6, shaft radius [mm] r_hub = 12; // 12, hub outer radius [mm] h_hub = 70; // 40 hub height [mm] f_a = 250; // 150, procentual aera of blade, f_a in [50 : 250] sh = 30; // 50, procentual blade shift [50%] sh in [0 : 100] CCW = 0; // 0, 0:clockwise 1: counter clockwise naca = [.03,.5,.12]; // [.03,.5,.12], hydrofoil data [camber, max camber, thickness] scimitar = 0; // sweep or scimitar angle The STLs in the download section are defined in the examples code section of boatprop.scad. It's straightforward to supply your own values to the call. Don't forget to also download the library scad files into your project or OpenSCAD library folder. It is easy to go into the code and customize your perferred hub shape. Or define a small hub and union your own version to a blade design. Have fun. Thinking of commerical usage? Send me a PM explaining your usecase and offer.
