Description

Update I am working on a slightly modified version that will work better with Bambu Lab's “TPU for AMS” - which is a harder plastic than standard TPU. While the use of this new flavor of TPU is probably more applicable to Bambu Lab users, I did want to note it here as well. Coming very soon! Timing and progress can be found here if you are interested. If you are using standard TPU, you can ignore this. Quick and Simple Simple and fast print (under 30 minutes with 'standard' speed printers and under 20 with something like a Bambu Lab even with TPU. No supports needed . While this can be printed with any filament, I strongly suggest TPU . The flexibility of TPU offers a better seal and improved usability. Win-win. Why this print is useful We have a family member who opens a can of carbonated water, drinks part of it, then puts it back in the fridge. And of course a few hours later, when she returns to finish it, it is invariably completely flat. Made this simple cap to help slow down the carbonation loss. This fits many different aluminum cans (some samples posted here). Soda, carbonated water, beer and many energy drinks. Another use: keep flies, bees and other insects out of your open soda or beer cans at a picnic or other outdoor activities! Variations Standard Fit The “classic” fit. Not as airtight as the version below but the size is a compromise between easy usability on-off and airtightness. TPU seals better than harder plastics. My personal recommendation is to start with this one before trying the extra tight one to see which you prefer. Available with and without a “hook hole” - a small hole in the “pull tab” to allow for hanging on a small hook for organization. Extra Tight Fit Added a version that is pre-scaled down to be even tighter. If you use this version, you will almost definitely want to use TPU if you weren't already planning to. It is a (little) bit harder to get onto the can though. Available with and without a hook hole. Multi-cap photo courtesy (and used with permission of) @milfordoj .
