Description

Canned Tuna Smoosher Drain the liquid from cans of Tuna, Salmon and others, leaving all that fishy goodness. Details The Canned Tuna Smoosher works with both the modern can openers that don't create a sharp-edged lid, as well as the old-school cut-your-hand-off style. Seems like these days, most people use the the ones that cut through the crimp leaving no sharp edges. When opening cans of tuna, salmon, etc, in the (US) 5 Oz. size, (approx. 84mm diameter) the question always seems to be how do you thoroughly drain off the liquid without getting it all over your hands? Well, here's the solution! To use, open can with can opener, remove the top, and press in the smoosher, letting the liquid drain out....OVER THE SINK...or your infinitely grateful cat's food dish; your choice! Printing the smoosher Generally recommend printing in white, so you can more-easily see residual fishy goodness. Print Settings These are settings I've used successfully many times now Machine: Creality K2 Plus Filament: (Hyper) PLA Nozzle: 0.4mm Line Height: 0.20 - 0.25mm Sparse Infill: 35% Cubic Rafts / Support / Brim : none needed IMPORTANT: When printed in normal PLA, this is NOT Dishwasher safe. If you truly need dishwasher safe, print this in a high-temp filament like Polypropylene. PLA and similar will withstand hand washing and quick hot-water rinsing, but very likely NOT exposure to dishwasher washing or drying temperatures. Data files I've uploaded the various data types most useful, including a Fusion360 design archive. Let me know if you find anything at all wrong with the data. And if you want to give these to your friends and family, give the 9-up plating a try! Note Yes, this was originally called the Tuna Can Smoosher, but the web site's database entry must have gotten whacked: for the last three weeks, views and downloads have gone DOWN every single day. Clearly that's both not right AND not possible. So, I've reposted the design!
