Description

The main idea was to make the hook longer because when I try to put the keys I always bump into the box with my fingers and it really annoys a lot (the distance between the box and the tip of the hook is only 15 mm, besides, the box covers the hook with its width. You need to make really precise movements of your fingers to put or take off the ring with the keys. I prolonged the tail for additional 20 mm and now the box is not on the way of fingers and everything's fine here. But when I changed the tail I found that the whole construction is rather weak for heavy keys. If you pull the tail too hard, it will fall off because it is only attached with the help of 2 small pins and the pin holes on the lever are very thin and bend easily, thus letting the tail fall off when you pull it. I'm too lazy to redesign STL in Blender to make these parts strong and reliable (it's faster and easier for the author because he has sources), but as I wanted to use it, I made a tail with a slightly longer pins. It's not possible to make them too long because if you make them longer, the tail hole will not allow you to insert the tail inside the box. The next step was to enforce the pin holes on the lever, and when I tried to do it, I broke them, because they are very thin! I didn't want to wait for 3 hours more to reprint the whole box so I made a replacement lever that can be used after you break off the old lever. Basically, it is the same lever, but it takes only 8 minutes to print it. It is printed without support the flat (bottom) side on the bad. The cap is glued after you install the lever on the axis. It works better now and the tail doesn't fall off when I pull it, but I hope the author of the original model will redesign it to remove all the weak parts to make it more reliable. I'm 100% sure that the pins on the tail and the pin holes on the lever are the weak points of this model. The other stuff is designed well. The files that I didn't change can be downloaded here .
