Description
This Chicken gravity feeder is meant to be screwed into an 80mm hole in a bucket filled with chicken feed such that the feed only reaches the bottom level of the hole in the feeder. This eliminates the wasted feed problem as chickens cant reach in there with their feet and spread the feed on the ground, it also prevents pests and vermin from getting in there and keeps the feed dry. This design is based on the feeders avaiable online and uses the same 80mm standard hole you need to drill in a bucket. You print the top and bottom part and glue them together using CA glue / Hot glue / Construciton adhesive / double sided tape, or weld the two parts using soldering iron. This makes it so the part can be printed quickly and without supports. Then slide the feeder from inside the feed bucket and and screw on the cap to secure it, if the feed / moisture is leaking through the gap, you can also include the TPU gasket or just spread a bit of silicone on the mating surface. A push-in cover is also included and allows for sealing unused feeder ports I reccomend against using PLA and even regular ABS if the part will be used outdoors as the summer heat is too much for PLA which will soften and deform and ABS might get brittle from UV and moisture exposure not to mention it isn't food safe. The reccomended filament here is PETG or ASA
