Description

Slicer Settings Feel free to use whatever you're comfortable printing with, these are my recommended settings. Nozzle Size: 0.4 Layer Height: 0.2 (small&mid) 0.3 (large) Extrusion width: 0.3 (small) 0.35 (mid&large) Speed: no recommendation since each printer is different Material: I used PETG since my printer is dialed in for it, but PLA works well for most people. There is no additional cost to you when you use my links. :) Inner Plate Assembly Each of these 20 pieces is keyed to help alignment. You don't need glue at this stage, but can be challenging to assemble. My recommendation is to assemble the two halves of the object separately, then connect together. Once you have them together, you can squeeze the ball-structure while applying pressure from multiple angles. These pieces should hold together long enough for you to insert the Mid Vertex Plates. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media Mid Vertex Assembly Each of these 12 pieces is sized right and keyed to snap into 5 of the Inner Plate pieces. To assemble, find a pentagon-like side and press into place. At first it may sit in position but not fully seated, so please press until you feel it can't go any further. The Inner Plates may want to separate along the opposite side of where you're inserting the Mid Vertex pieces; this is natural since other pieces are getting captively tightened, but this will be fixed once all of the Mid Vertex Plates are in place. I didn't need glue at this stage for the mid and small size prints, but feel free to add some super glue if needed. Outer Assembly This step should be easy. Place each Outer Vertex Plate within the slot provided of the Mid Vertex Plates. At this stage, you will likely need super glue to keep in place because nothing is being held captive and is purely slotted to fit. Connect each of the Cross-Connect Bars in-between the vertex plates. This stage of the assembly will definitely need to be super glued since they are small and don't have much surface contact area. Numbers! If you printed the digits and number base separately, insert each digit into their corresponding base. You may need glue if your printer isn't very accurate. If you printed the multicolor version model, you don't need to assemble anything at this step. For those that care about numerical balance, I assembled each number in this pattern below: 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media Image Source: https://twitter.com/mxsophieh/status/1155483223713075200
