Originally published here on Thingiverse . This was made with MATLAB R2016a in a similar way that of other astronomical bodies, plotting a topographical map on a spherical projection. I could not find a good, detailed and free topographical map of the Death Star, so I created my own using Paint.net, MATLAB and some texture maps. It is scaled taken the max size of 160 km in diameter. However there is not consensus on its real (pretended) size. Some details may be wrong since I didn't watch any Star Wars movie. The file's names explained: name_1_x_10_y.stl is 1 : x * 10 ^ y. So _1_6_10_7 is 1:600000000 or one in 60 million. I spend part of my time making these models, letting them available and free for everyone.
