Description

I took the V3 SE rails mod and applied all the changes from the comment section. @RainMk_1581311 flattened the model for aesthetic reasons, and removed the tall “guides” that sit around the rails, which possibly restrict the carriage movement. I have done the same here. This change converts 2x m3x20 screws into 2x m3x14 - for the front plate. @michalp noted that the Y belts are just barely rubbing the rear mount in the middle. I have removed some height from the middle, but the rear plate (upper section supportless) needs to be printed in two pieces now. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media @CornelioHopm_1980696 notes that you should NOT use decorative / aluminium screws. I have used stainless + threadlocker medium for the rail screws and suggest you do the same. @Jack_Dojade_2098260 notes that you should NOT use the modified Y belt fixing mount ( https://www.printables.com/model/785798-ender-3-v3-se-grinding-x-y-belt-fix-v1) - as it interferes and is not compatible with this mod. @Jack_R1_1747357 notes that supports make the model much worse due to tolerances. The model included here is supportless, but will now need to be very dimensionally accurate / excellent pressure advance to fit the pieces together well. @Jack_R1_1747357 also notes that the metal ends on the Y axis cable will “strike” the head of the screw on the front mounting plate, so I have lowered that screw alone by 2mm. It now takes m3x12 instead of m3x14. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media @TechGuy_1913637 notes that these two screws need to be a low-profile head or they will strike the rail carriage during travel. I also experienced this, so I advise that you look for low profile screws / button head. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media Due to the reduced physical strength of the pieces from removing some height, This piece must be printed at minimum PETG 5 walls, 5 top and bottom layers, 40% gyroid infill. Remember to reduce your Infill/Wall overlap% when printing at high wall count to prevent overextrusion, I had success with 22% but you may need to reduce it further.
