Desktop Organizer: Modular 20mm Dowel System

This project was born from a need to reclaim desk space by elevating my PC monitor. The system is designed around standard Ø20mm wooden dowels and 3D-printed connectors, creating a robust framework that allows for plenty of storage underneath. By combining the organic feel of wood with the precision of 3D printing, you get a desktop accessory that is both functional and aesthetically pleasing. The current release includes the essential end-caps and a central support bracket. The center support is particularly useful for longer spans or heavier monitors to prevent any bowing of the wooden rods. I have also included simple dividers that slide onto the dowels to help organize your gear. Every part is engineered for a snug fit, ensuring the structure remains stable even under the weight of larger displays. This is just the beginning for this modular system. I am currently developing a range of "snap-on" accessories to further enhance the functionality of the stand. Planned updates include under-mount drawers for stationery, click-in smartphone cradles, and cable management clips. Since the foundation is built on a standard dowel size, the possibilities for customization are nearly limitless.
