Description
I wanted a general purposes battery mount that I could build on top of. My first project was to mate a DeWALT battery to a hand-held chain saw that uses an odd battery (.stl and model included). This project is a remix of the famous DeWalt battery adapter by @JankieL ( https://www.printables.com/model/209265-dewalt-battery-adapter ), with these changes: Note: What I call the "top surface" is the non-battery side of JankieL's dewalt_adapter_bottom.stl. This "top surface" is where you may attach your creations. I provided a path to route the wires to the top surface as an alternative to out the back side. This may be desirable based on what you're building. Exiting the back side is still supported. The tunnel will support insulated 14 AWG wire. I added mount holes on the top surface that are more spread out and centered (50mm x 35mm spacing). These are intended for sheet metal screws. The holes are 2.6mm diameter, and work fine with #4 sheet metal screws or ~3mm diameter (as measured at the top of the threads) screws. In your design, limit penetration to 7.3mm. I could not find appropriate Faston/Spade connectors in my collection, so I used some 1/4" wide by 0.04" thick brass and made my own battery contacts. I included JankieL's original/unmodified dewalt_adapter_top.stl for completeness. I print in PETG using the Bambu "0.20mm Strength" profile (6 wall loops, 25% infill). If printing the chainsaw mount, print with the center split faces down and support the inside top and the wire channel. Fusion360 model included. Did you build it? Please leave a comment and rating.
