Description

When I was looking for a way to add an extra cooling fan to my Ender 3 V2 I came across this excellent model from cdsmakestuff that was everything I was looking for. That being said I saw a little room for improvement so here's my remix. Get your Prusameters… Post your Makes! If you like this project, please don't forget to ❤ Like and ★ Rate! Changes from the original design: BLTouch Mount Added countersink to the BLTouch screw holes Cooling fan mount Increased base width to improve support for the right fan Cooling fans now require M2 x 3mm x 3mm heat set inserts (optional) Added an additional 2mm of height adjustment range Fan shroud Opened the fan shroud up to reduce back pressure Eliminated the zip tie and added a bracket to screw directly to the heatsink Required materials: I opted to use all new materials when assembling this so here's the complete list of what you'll need: Part cooling fans (2) 4010 24V blower fans (8) M2 x 6mm machine screws (8) M2 x 3mm long heat set inserts (optional) BLtouch mount (can skip if not using the BLtouch) (1) M3 x 8mm machine screw, flat washer, and lock washer (2) M3 x 10mm phillips head machine screws (2) M3 nylon lock nuts Heatsink fan / assembly (4) #4 x ¾” pan head sheet metal screws (½" if you're not using the fan guard) (2) M3 x 20mm machine screws, flat washers, and lock washers Base / mount assembly (1) M3 x 16mm machine screw, flat washer, and lock washer (1) M3 x 12mm machine screw, flat washer, and lock washer (1) M3 x 8mm machine screw, flat washer, and lock washer (2) M3 nylon lock nuts (1) M3 x 4mm long heat set insert (1) 100mm cable tie Print settings: 0.4mm nozzle 0.2mm layer height 4 walls (because certain part areas are better solid) 5 top / bottom layers 15% gyroid infill PETG - I originally printed this using PLA+ and it warped severely while printing higher temp material. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media This model does not have any compensation for ABS shrinkage, if you need higher temp I would try ASA since it has much less shrinkage. Assembly instructions: cdsmakestuff did an excellent job of writing up assembly instructions so I've included a copy of them in the files section to use as a baseline for this remix. I'll get around to writing up some key differences here but in the meantime feel free to reach out if you have any questions. If you choose to use the version with heat set insert for the cooling fan please note that the tolerances are very tight and you aren't likely to be able to use a proper heat set soldering tip. I had the best luck using a knife soldering tip and heating very slowly so I could make sure the inserts were going in straight. Credit: This remix would not be possible if not for the excellent work from cdsmakestuff . If you find this thing useful, please consider sending him a tip https://paypal.me/cdsmakestuff The fan guard came from the Hero Me Gen7 Master Suite Release 2.1
