Add the egg and vanilla extract, mixing well. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until a dough forms. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 5 mm thickness. Use the cookie cutter to cut the shape. Place the cookies on a baking tray lined with parchment paper. Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 10–12 minutes or until lightly golden. Let the cookies cool before decorating.
