edge-mounted shoehorn holder

I looked around for a shoehorn holder that could hang on the side of a cabinet, but I could not find anything like it. After a bit of head-scratching, I made my own. Now I’m sharing it here in case someone else needs the same thing. It mounts to the side of a horizontal cabinet panel and holds a long shoehorn securely and within easy reach.
