Description

My wife has a collection of seven 4"x6" prints by Jorge Cocco, and wanted some way to display them at work without taking up the whole wall or desk to do so. How do you compactly display multiple pictures? With a Rolodex, of course! But it has to be cute, so I did my best to make it so. I'm very happy my wife likes it. I think it would work well for anywhere between four and ten frames, but beyond that it probably would look too weird to really do its job well. All the pieces fit together very snugly, without being too tight. There is no room for any clear protection over the pictures, but they were able to slide in and out easily without damage. With the stand, I didn't even need to glue the cross spars to the side walls, they fit so well (and didn't have to push very hard to get them in, either!) When putting the two halves of each frame together, make sure to slide the back part into the little retainer pieces the right way. There is a slight chamfer on one corner that helps it fit into the bottom part, and another slight chamfer on the finger holes towards the top that helps you pull it out if necessary. But this is easy to miss! Don't force the pieces too much as they should slide without too much difficulty. There should be a nice snap when the top of the back part pops into place, but nothing should be bent out of shape. I used a piece of twine that we had lying around to tie the photos into place. I used a tautline hitch to hold the string tight while we adjusted the lengths, and once everything was centered and level, I used superglue to keep the knot from moving anymore and cut the ends of the knots very close once the glue dried. I added the name of each print to the bottom of the frame, as can be seen in the pictures, but I uploaded just the blank version. Feel free to add any title or note you want to the bottom.
