Description

Don't let the number of files intimidate you, you'll only needs a fraction of them - continue reading and you'll see why there's that many ;) A riser with rolling shutters. It'll provide the best possible airflow while remaining as airtight as possible when shut. V 1.1 parts now available - see end of text for details. - PTFE passthrough added - new lid cover for improved slider reliability Info time: Recommended material: PETG, print on photos was printed in Elegoo PETG Pro showcased is the Split Lowtop NoLED version Split Version: suitable for medium size printbeds, fits nicely on the Centauri Carbon Large printers Version: printbed size at least 375 x 370, with a couple mm safety margin. Will fit nicely on a Neptune 4 Max. Lowtop: 31mm tall print in total, 14mm tall openings Hightop: 46mm tall print in total, 29mm tall openings The LED Version has chamfers to stick LED strips to and a cable passthrough in the back. The NoLED version does not have those features. The folder “Pins + Testpiece + Lid” contains a testpiece and different tolerance pins. The pins can (and should) be a tight fit. I used the back of a spoon of all things, to help “hammer” and press them into place. Requires minimal supports, it's obvious where (only on 90° overhangs, don't print the chamfers with supports, they shouldn't need them), use “normal auto” supports. print at 0.2mm layer height. 0.4mm nozzle works nicely, 0.6mm not tested but should theoretically also work, 0.8mm will likely cause issues with XY dimensions / tolerances You'll need the following folders: You will need to access TWO folders 1: the “Pins + Testpiece + Lid ” Folder 2: the folder of the version you want to print. Each version folder contains all files needed. choices are: Split or Large printer Lowtop or Hightop LED or NoLED from the Pins folder you need: 2x of each: V1.1 Lid Cover LEFT / RIGHT (all version need those) Pins of the tolance you found best for your printer for the Split version: 12 pins for the large printers version: 8 pins optional but recommended: print one pin of each tolerance and the test piece, to check pin fitment. for the second folder pick the version you want to print and get all files from that folder. nothing more, nothing less. each version got its own complete folder with ALL files you need for that version, apart from the pins and lid covers which are shared across all versions. no guesswork. there is now ONE part per folder that's been updated to V1.1 with a PTFE passthrough. the V1.0 file without that passthrough is still in the folder. print only one of them. In the LED Version top piece there's rounded recesses in the corners to bend excess LED strip into, for easier cornering. The small bridge in that recess is intended for a ziptie, to secure the LED strip in place - added security should the glue fail. ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------- V 1.1 update on 04-06-2025: 1) PTFE passthrough added. the files have been added to the respective folders and named / tagged accordingly. It's ONE file per riser folder, nothing changed in the Pins…. folder. - if you printed the split version you'll only have to reprint the bottom rear right section - if you printed the large printer version you'll unfortunately have to reprint the entire bottom part. --- 2) new Lid cover part for improved slider reliability - there's left and right parts now. in some quick testing this completely remedied the side sliders getting stuck. for removing the old sliders I've found a butter knife working great, to pry apart the riser without any damage. for installing the new ones there's two approaches, see pics for reference: either: have the riser “half assembled” and feed in the slider - then button up the assembly or: install the slider and insert the lid cover from the top, slightly rotating it back and forth for easier installation while basically just dropping the new LidCover in form above ------------------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------------------------------------- -------------------------------------------------------------------
