Description
This is a remix of Prouting's Magnetic Skeletonized Centauri Carbon Toolhead, specifically the front cover with a pocket modelled in to allow the use of a FYSETC 24V LED . I purposely made the fit a bit loose as you may be using an uncalibrated shrink-prone material like ABS or ASA, but you can just use a bit of superglue or epoxy to hold the LED in place. The FYSETC LED is dimensionally similar to the ubiquitous Neopixels used in DIY 3D printer setups so you have flexibility to use similar formfactor LEDs, just be mindful of voltage requirements and whether a converter is required. I have also uploaded an updated version of the magnetic skeletonized backplate that has revised hole spacing (1mm inboard for all 3), which corrects screwhole spacing issues at least on my Centauri Carbon. In order to complete this mod, you have to match the positive/neutral wires from the LED harness to the positive and negative on the toolhead fan. In other words- match red wire to red wire; black wire to black wire. There are a couple of ways of doing this- either splice it directly to the fan side wiring itself (cheapest and simplest, irreversible but at least the fan is replaceable so not a big deal), or like me you create a 4pin male-female JST-ZH (get the M-F 4pin set, length doesn't really matter since you only need a few cm) adapter to go between the fan and toolhead and splice power from that to the LED. Even better if you can get your hands on a terminal and connector kit to crimp your own from scratch. The adapter I made below I spliced just the positive and negative 24V to the LED leaving the tach and fan control as pass-through. I elected to solder and heat shrink this assembly. The one thing I did notice with the Aliexpress JST listing is that the color order of the wires are reversed. I repinned the connectors to the right order, but if you're confident you won't make a mistake, it doesn't really matter. I finished this with a short length of cable sleeving just to keep things manageable and slightly better to look at. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media Then you just plug everything together and the LED will light up as the printer comes online.
AI Analysis: This is a toolhead cover designed for printers, specifically for the Elegoo Centauri series. It protects the nozzle and includes an LED indicator to show operational status. The carbon fiber material and integrated fan housing help manage heat during .
