Description
These 3D printable pots are based on equation-driven and guided-form design workflows from the Equation-Driven Pots project. The featured models were generated from a base profile swept along a closed-loop 3D guide shape, then further developed into functional pots by cutting the top and bottom, shelling the form, and adding drainage holes in 3D software such as Fusion 360 or Autodesk Mudbox. This sweep-based workflow is part of the project’s SweepDesigner tool, which expands the design system beyond radial pot equations into guided 3D forms. It makes it possible to generate more complex looped, braided, and sculptural bodies that can then be refined in CAD or digital sculpting software into printable vessels. GitHub project: https://github.com/arkadiraf/Equation-Driven-Pots Online tool collection: https://arkadiraf.github.io/Equation-Driven-Pots-App/ The full project includes multiple workflows, including: equation-driven cylindrical pot generation spherical pot generation textured pot generation multi-color pot workflows sweep-based guided 3D form generation Fusion 360 reconstruction workflows These sweep-based pots show how the project can also work as a starting point for additional modeling in 3D software, combining procedural generation with manual finishing and CAD refinement. Equation-Driven Pots is intended both as a practical 3D-printing project and as a way to explore mathematics, guided geometry, and digital fabrication as design tools.
