Description
This is a simple 3D-printable adapter set for mounting an ESP32 board running AI-on-the-Edge firmware on top of an Axioma QALCOSONIC 1621 water meter. The design consists of four printable parts: wmaxiomaadatapterv7.3mf – Base adapter frame that fits directly on the Axioma 1621 water meter body. wmpipe100.3mf – 100 mm tall tube that raises the ESP32 above the meter. wmtop21.3mf – Top adapter plate that holds the ESP32 board. Designed for an ESP32 board used with AI-on-the-Edge. wmsleeve722.3mf – Sleeve/coupler that connects the 100 mm tube and the ESP32 top plate, giving a snug press-fit stack. Printing Notes Recommended material: PLA, PETG or ASA. Layer height: 0.2 mm works fine; no special settings required. Infill: 15–25% is enough, parts are not mechanically highly stressed. Supports: Recommended for the base adapter (wmaxiomaadatapterv7). Assembly Insert wmpipe100 into the base adapter. Glue parts with superglue for a permanent bond. Slide wmsleeve722 over the top of the tube. Push wmtop21 with the mounted ESP32 into the sleeve so everything forms a straight vertical stack. Glue parts. Secure ESP32 board at corners with hot glue to keep it in place. Connect power and configure AI-on-the-Edge according to its documentation. The model was designed for my own installation, so tolerances are tuned for a reasonably tight press fit. If you remix, improve, or adapt this for other ESP32 boards or meters, I'd be happy to see your versions in the Makes or as a remix.
