Description
This is a fiddly project involving a lot of delicate hand wiring and cutting PCBs. Not for those without this kind of experience. IMHO. To fit the scope into 14HP the PCB was cut and installed at an angle. The LCD PCB also has to be cut, cut off the 0.1" connector and use the 2mm connector Cutting main PCB: Remove the buttons and power header (white) A dremel and cut-off wheel was used to cut the PCB where shown in the picture. Note: check for shorts to the ground of the remaining button pads, I had one short to the ground plane and the unit would not start. Cutting the LCD PCB: Cut off the installed 0.1" header, you can use the inside header silkscreen line as a guide. Install a 2mm header. the two 2-pin headers are not used electrically and are left. LCD and slide switches install with M2 hardware. PCB- 2 M4 screws and threaded inserts Soldering LCD cable: 2mm socket plugs into LCD PCB. Cut the cable to length and solder to back of LCD header on main PCB. Wires alternate side to side, a PITA. (Come up with something better?) Slide switches solder to solder pads on main PCB after removing switches. I used coax for signal from jacks to main PCB but maybe not necessary at audio frequencies. For power wire to the back of the power jack to however you power your rack. Mine was ribbon cable to a 16-pin header socket.
