Description
This rolling pin was created by taking the classic herring-bone gear ( https://www.printables.com/model/3119-herringbone-planetary-gear ), enlarging it, adding a knurled outer surface, and copying it vertically to create a longer cylinder. The handle was adapted from this file handle model: https://www.printables.com/model/190763-file-handle Each rolling pin segment (I use two) is printed using PETG and the 0.2 quality setting. Each segment takes two days and 6.5 hours to print and uses 131 metres of filament. It is print-in-place and works immediately. The handles were printed using PLA, 0.2 quality setting, and default supports. They each take 2 hours and 18 minutes to print and use 6.3 metres of filament. Once done, mount the pieces on a 486mm (19-1/8") length of 16mm (5/8") steel bar stock.
