Description
The original model frustrated me because the close proximity of its rings makes it very challenging to print, and there's just no good reason for it. The rings are so thin and flexible, even in PLA, that you could just as easily print them all separately and then combine them afterwards, and it would be infinitely less trouble. The only downside is that if you truly separated each ring, they'd take up way too much build plate space. So I did the next best thing, which was to separate each group of every 4th ring and convert them into individual objects. There are now four concentric ring piles, each with a generous 3.4 millimeter gap between rings. All you have to do, when it's finished, is recombine them. I recommend starting from the center; part 1 has the smallest ring, part 2 has the second smallest, part 3 the third smallest, and so on. Just loop through the four parts repeatedly as you stack the rings back together until the star is fully assembled. In this way, even those of us trapped in Retraction Samsara may know fidgeting bliss.
