Description
scaled and cut the Threaded Container by Jonathan Levi to use it as a inline cleaner/duster for 1.75 filaments. it is loadable from top or the side by aligning the slots in both parts. besides a piece of sponge, foam or cloth no “hardware“ is needed. while printing the file you can cut a clean kitchen sponge or other foam you have on hand (a piece of multiple folded cloth will also work) to a piece around 25x25x40mm, (wait for the print to finish ;) ) squeeze and fold this once in the upright position and push it into the longer part. if you want to feed your filament from the side try to align the folding gap in the foam and the slot in the housing. as it is a pain folding foam like this I suggest cutting it half way through, its tricky to do but the device works best this way. this prints fine without supports, had good results with PETG at 0.2 layers and prusaslicer standard settings. it has thin walls in this scale and is therefore light and does need very little material. there is a little room to scale it down if it’s to bulky for you, adding a negative volume cylinder of 1.9-2.0mm diameter in the center ensures filament is still fitting. as always I highly appreciate every like, rating or make, same for remixing and sharing. donations will be forwarded to sea-watch.org
