Description
This is a rubber band powered filament clamp-on to prevent the spool from unraveling when stored. 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media Mechanism is fully print-in-place. Add rubber band for the spring loading. I reused some that came with a bunch of asparagus. There is a version with filament clip and a classic one without clip. I recommend the version with filament clip. If you go clip-less, insert filament between rubber band and clamp for extra security. This is if your filament want to escape under the clamp. STLs with different sizes available: XS: 39 - 52 mm S: 51 - 64 mm M: 55 - 68 mm (this size works fine on my Prusament and eSUN 1 kg spools) L: 64 - 77 mm XL: 73 - 86 mm Printing tips: Don't use brim as it might fuse the first layer. Don't use supports, the model relies on bridging and safe overhangs. Use at least 3 perimeters so that the bridging has something to attach to. Give it a squeeze to free mechanism in case it is stuck after printing. It should release with a click, pull it back and forth a few times and it should move freely. PLA can be slippery. Apply some duct tape to the clamp ends if more friction is needed.
