Description

I really liked Extrutim 's Filament Sample Box and the included color chip/swatch. However, my issue with filament samples has always been labeling or identifying. I have no desire to have to customize each chip with raised or color-change text, and just scribbling with a marker doesn't give me much room with my ogre-like handwriting. I played around with printing mailing labels and sticking them on the chips, but messing with printer settings each time and adjusting for which labels were already used was just as annoying. So, despite the lack of customization, I just decided to use my plain, consumer label printer and standard ½″ labels. This is the above filament chip modified to have an inset for ½″ and ¾″ labels. The inset makes it very easy to align the label in both directions and helps prevent it from peeling off. Note: this is not a direct remix. With only STLs to work from, I re-modeled the filament swatch myself, so some details may not be exact. However, it does fit in the same boxes, which was the point.
