Description
A brief video deomonstration: https://youtube.com/shorts/kiZKUkexKrg?si=kBOF8F9uXhrnBcDT Inspired by the struggles of some printers to use cardboard spools, this device will ensure level winding of filament onto a new plastic spool. Run with a 3/8" socket adapter. If you want to drive it using something else, there are 4 M3 screws in a 50mm square on the drive gear. UPDATE 2023/01/23 : Added in the 50 tooth gear I forgot to upload. Non-printed parts required: 5x 608 bearings (I used 608ZZ, but 2RS would work too) 8x M3 x 4 x 5 Heatset Inserts 2x 6x3 Neodidymium magnets 3x M3 nuts Assorted M3 Hardware (Ranges from M3x12-M3x40, will update this soon) Some Glue Optional, but useful is a piece of PTFE tube (bowden tube sized, 4x2mm) When gluing the diamond shaft together, use two of the bearings to ensure correct positioning. Assembly Instructions: https://docs.google.com/document/d/17WcXDU7UAVl6RjmVkTb7mQGC5FVSP0qnfMd-afVyT7w/edit?usp=sharing No supports Required Printed with 4 perimeters, 40% infill, 5 top and bottom layers, and no supports.
