Description

Hello, This is my first ever post and also creation I made for the FlashForge Adventurer 5M/Pro (AD5M) series printer. This kit allows the AD5M to have a drag chain that is not only minimal, but also keeps the new filament sensor in the correct orientation with no need to buy any additional hardware. This kit will work with the standard 5M and Pro, with or without an enclosure. You will need to use the factory spool holder screws for securing the base . Simply print a side mount spool holder for better filament feed position. INFORMATION: Chain: - I personally use 18 chain pieces since I've cut my PTFE Guide Tube to eliminate the chain rubbing on the printer's frame and have a minimal look, but 19 or 20 chain pieces will work just fine. - These chain links are almost 2x longer than drag chain links here on Printables, so keep that in mind if you're wanting to cut your PTFE Guide Tube as well. Termination: - The Hot End Terminations I've made are either raised or lowered than others found here on Printables. They both are angled up 5-degrees to help minimize the droop drag chains get over a certain length. Too much droop will cause the chain to rub on the printer's frame , so keep that in mind when choosing how long of a chain you want. - The Raised Hot End Termination is slightly higher than the Base Plate's termination. This allows for a more leveled drag chain and eliminates the chain rubbing that others (including the lowered termination) creates due to droop. - The Lowered Hot End Termination rests right on top of the extruder's plastic frame. This is used if you have a base plate that is lower than this kits' base plate and are not wanting to change to it. PRINT SETTINGS: Filament Type: PLA (PLA+ or High-Speed PLA works just fine) Layer Height: 0.15-0.28mm (0.15mm creates better chain connection points, but isn't necessary) Wall Loops: 2 Infill Density: 15% for all parts except the hex nut . Hex Nut: 100% Speed: Use your filament's recommended settings for all parts except the hex nut . Hex Nut: 5mm/s (For EACH layer speed) Supports: None; - Note: Use Slim Trees if you're having looping issues but avoid using them on chain holes to avoid binding/rough movements. Thank you for checking out my submission! If you have any questions, feel free to leave a comment.
