Floating Chess Board - Atlantis Styled

This is a chess game that you can take with you when taking a bath. The board consists of buoys. They are connected but still can move freely so it's ok to make some waves 😅 The board, with all pieces connected, is 62 x 62cm (24.4 x 24.4 inch) The Atlantis styled pieces are quite a lot of printing. So a minimalistic chess set is in the making. That will be a lot easier and faster to print, also without supports. Upcoming improvements: The knight is beautiful and prints well, but is fragile. Maybe some thicker coral that attaches more to the body Maybe change the right arm of the queen to make it print more strong A better bishop, with some more mass. This one is so cool, but kinda small for a bishop. An extra set of easy/fast printable minimalistic pieces Printing The STLs have printing numbers in the name: 3w-3b means: print 3 in white, 3 in black. The following print settings have been tested and work for me. They float really well and the bouys click together nice and tight. PLA filament .4 nozzle .2 layer heights 10% gyroid infill (or 25% lightning) 3 bottom and top layers 2 shell walls The board components are printed without supports. The chess pieces do need support: organic supports on build plate only overhang threshold: 25 The pieces floated better with 1 layer outer walls, but that does make it harder to print. Maybe I'll try with a larger floating area on the bottom. I have added gcode files with color-names for the full set with these settings. The queen had a print error. 22-02-2024 Updated king piece STL file. Made the left arm better printable Updated queen piece STL file. There was something wrong with the outer layering wich made the queen render with only 1 shell wall wich made it print badly. updated pieces-white, pieces-black gcode files with 10% line infill and the new king/queen 20-02-2024 Updated King piece. Made the trident thicker to make it print better.
