Description
Upgrade your budget FlySky FS-i6X into a fully capable ELRS radio! I designed this custom back cover to fit a Radiomaster ELRS Nano module and a 2S 18650 Li-ion battery pack. Combined with the OpenTX/EdgeTX mod for the FS-i6X, this turns a cheap beginner transmitter into a highly functional piece of gear. Let's be honest: buying a brand new budget ELRS radio is probably easier and might even be cheaper. But I already had the FlySky lying around, and making this work was a fantastic DIY project! Key Features: Optimized Slim Design: I spent a lot of time optimizing the space. The radio is barely thicker than the factory version, keeping it comfortable to hold. Integrated Module Bay: Fits a standard Nano-sized module (specifically tested with the Radiomaster ELRS Nano). Upgraded Power: Space for a custom 2S 18650 Li-ion pack, completely replacing the annoying AA batteries. Relocated Data/Trainer Port: I got rid of the awkward stock connector on the back. The PC/simulator port has been rewired to a female USB connector and moved to the top, right next to the antenna. Included Files: Ready-to-print .stl of my final version. The full Fusion 360 .f3d source file. Feel free to remix, adjust tolerances for your printer, or adapt it to your specific battery pack! What's next? I'm currently working on DIY CNC aluminum gimbals for this radio to make it even better. Stay tuned!
