Description

Well, I saw the halloween fog attachment for 3D Printy's desktop fountain system and that made me come up with the idea to adapt cheap ultrasonic atomizers to work with the system to make some pretty fog fountains. For now I've just finished making the first one after several iterations and fixing unexpected fluid dynamics issues, but I'm going to have fun making a lot more fog fountain modules : ) Here's a little preview: 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media Instructions: If you want a little less fog, use the wickless plate and skip steps 4 and 5, but make sure the water level is high enough to touch the piezo disc. Time to start then: 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media 1. First things first, you'll need to unclip the wires of the piezo disc from the connector 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media 2. Next you'll need to pass the wires through the dedicated hole 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media 3. Next you'll need to squeeze the piezo disc inside the dedicated slot until it gets to the bottom, and after that you need to clip the wires back into the connector 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media 4. With that done, you'll now need to attach the wick holder cap 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media 5. Now you'll need to cut the cotton wick down to the required size (enough to not touch the bottom of the fountain) and push it into the wick holder while making sure it's touching the piezo disc (fray the end in contact with the disc for a little extra fog). 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media 6. Finally, you'll need to attach the desired fog fountain and connect it to the electronic board 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media Plug it in and have fun looking at the pretty fog : ) 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media Needed electronics: I used this ~3$ piezo kit from eBay, which can also be found on Amazon too but costs a little bit more: 📷 Image redacted — claim this model to add your own media It's pretty common and easy to find on eBay, I also ordered a double piezo module so I'll see if that one will be compatible with my remix once it arrives, and start thinking about multi fogger fountains for even more mist : )
