Description
I had no idea how many types of DSLR lens thread configurations there were until I dug my Lumix G kit out of a drawer and resolved to make an adapter for my GameBoy Camera. As it turns out, the Lumix G uses MFT, or Micro Four Thirds, which is an open-source and non-proprietary mounting system that is utilized by a variety of different lens manufacturers. As an added bonus, these lenses have a small but secure locking mechanism, plus a little red dot on the side that you line up with an identical dot on the camera to ensure a snug fit. I replicated that here with a raised dot on the print. If you are shopping for used lenses at a Goodwill or wherever, you're likely to find some of these without too much difficulty. Just look for the lenses with the little red dots on the side. However, if you're aiming to buy a nice one and you have a compatible DSRL to mate it with, here are some recommendations As with most of the other designs on here, I was inspired by the OG adapter ( http://ekeler.com/game-boy-camera-canon-ef-mount ). Although my lenses successfully mount onto it, I would caution folks to be very careful with the trimming and cleaning process afterwards lest someone accidentally strips one of the locking rings out. I suggest using tape to reinforce the attachment until or unless you feel good enough about the fit to unleash your Frankenstein camera on an unsuspecting and unsympathetic world. Note: I made mine orange, because it matches my Joey Jr. cartridge flasher/camera dump , which in turn matches my orange Chromatic . If you care about such things then you can mix, match, and print accordingly.
