Description

A modular terrain piece compatible with 35mm tile systems, such as Dungeon Blocks. I needed a dramatic set-piece tree for my game. We can do a lot with FDM printing, but branches and foliage are very thin and delicate. I had the idea to hang bells from a tree in the place of leaves, in order to give a sense of volume. The floor height matches the lower height for the dirt pieces in the Dungeon Blocks Ramparts and Ruins set. However, I've included a spacer piece that can be added to raise the floor height to match the stone floor pieces in that same set, or the floor height of the Ultimate Dungeon and other sets. In addition to the PLA printed parts, I have also used fine string for the rope, and paper card for the bunting. The pieces in the photos were printed on a Bambu A1, using a 0.2mm nozzle, and the Bambu standard 0.1mm print profile. The stone pieces were primed with Citadel Chaos Black spray primer, lightly dusted with Citadel Mechanicus Standard Grey spray primer, then dry brushed with Vallejo Medium Sea Grey. The tree was primed in grey, then painted in many acrylic colours. The bells were primed black, painted with Vallejo cavalry brown, dry brushed with Army Painter True Copper, and sponged with Army Painter Verdigris Effect. Please feel free to make any adjustments, derivative works, or integrate it into your own preferred terrain system. If you do use it, I would love to see what you make with it.
