Description

I was looking for a nice guitar stand and came across the model by Brian R (https://www.printables.com/model/416291-guitar-stand), but after printing it, i noticed that it does not provide enough clearance for my fancy latching strap buttons - and it also seemed a bit too wide for my guitar body. So a quick afternoon later, i designed my own stand with inspiration from Brian's model. You can see a size comparison in the renders. It has 3 * 4.7mm holes in the bottom to accomodate M3 heatset inserts, so you can easily and reliably mount any kind of rubber feet (up to 22mm diameter) to it. The support surfaces have a width of 20mm so that 2cm wide adhesive felt strips can be used to provide a bit of cushioning. The distance between the support surfaces is 52m, due to my guitar being 42mm thick and me using 5mm thick felt strips on either side. If your guitar is thicker than 42mm, just get thinner felt strips. If you want to use heat-set inserts, please load the included “Guitar Stand Modifiers” model as a modifier for the “Guitar Stand” model (makes sense, eh?), and set the perimeter/wall count to something like 6, so that the inserts get enough stability - especially when you're printing with low infill and e.g. only 3 perimeters/walls. Not mandatory, but i thought it may help. Updates After the first print, i noticed that the original narrow (150mm) version is a bit unstable. It works perfectly fine if you position your guitar properly, but it may tip to the (probably left) heavier side if your guitar is a bit asymmetric and you put it down centered. I have published a wider (200mm) version that is more stable and should be preferred over the narrow version. I've added some riser in 12mm, 15mm and 18mm to help with getting guitars with asymmetric bottoms to sit upright and centered. There's now also a Stabilizer for the back, to be used with heat-set inserts and rubber feet (>5mm height), to prevent tipping over backwards and to the side. I thought triangles were supposed to be the most stable. 🙄 And because this is supposed to use heat-set inserts, there's also a modifier STL to load for this part, so that you can increase the number of perimeters.
