Description

To reduce the altitude bearing stiction of my Hadley telescope, I created these bearing rings that use PTFE tubes as an interface material. The reduced stiction will require a well balanced telescope and possibly a spring to put more pressure on the bearing. Built around standard 4mm OD, 2mm ID (4x2) PTFE tubes. These are cut to ~17mm length. The Tube holders are fastened to the insides of the bearing interfaces. My print settings: PLA 4 walls, 20% infill (PTFE_holder has to be printed on side, using standard supports to ensure strength of rod) Hardware: 4 - M4 nuts (+1/side for spring) 4 - M4x12 bolts (min length) Enjoy!
AI Analysis: This is a mechanical part designed for mounting and supporting bearings. It features a curved structure with a slot for a bolt, allowing it to securely hold a bearing in place. The part is made of a durable material and is intended for use in precision machinery where stability and alignment are critical.
