Description

This is a simple temporary support to help install the primary mirror on your Hadley telescope. Can also be a nice stand to install the cell on the mirror and let it cure (~24 hours) before further handling. Very specific, but it was necessary for my build and it might be useful to you, too. Added as a remix to link to the original Hadley project. Why it exists If your LTA springs are rigid and somewhat long (> 1"), you will need to press the primary mirror into the LTA while you're installing the rear screws that hold the primary mirror's cell in place. To avoid manipulating the mirror directly and leaving finger marks (which can occur even with latex gloves), use this holder to press the mirror into the LTA so that you can install the adjustment screws. The only area of the support that makes contact with the mirror is ~2mm of the outer edge. The rest of the mirror is completely untouched. How to use it Put the support on a flat surface Place the mirror (glued on its cell) shiny side down on the support Place the LTA and its hardware on top of the mirror and press it down to screw it on the cell.
