Description
Hi All I have an iOptron Skyhunter mount. Good mount, except, that getting the knobs tightened reliably is a real pain in the behind. After doing some asking around, I came up with the idea of making a handle for each of the knobs. So I drew them up, printed them and made sure they fit. Of course, that was when I thought of making a combined handle! Oh well. I have test fit onto the mount and they do help to tighten the knobs. BUT, I have not yet used them with a scope or camera mounted. So, be cautious, they not may be as good as I had hoped. I will update this when I get to test them under real world conditions. If you decide to print any of these, I suggest printing the test pieces first, in your preferred material, with settings to produce a strong handle. Then check the fit and adjust if required. Remember, you may be applying quite a bit of force. I used PETG, with Infill 40% gyroid Top & Bottom 8 layers Perimeters 10 The test pieces and single sided handles did not need any supports. The double sided handle will need supports. I have not printed this, so don't have any particular suggestions. Have fun
