Heller Ladder Scraper Insert

This design was born out of necessity as I was using a Heller ladder to do ceiling mud work. I was frequently grabbing the 6” scraper to smooth a small section or scrap a protuberance off the ceiling. I realized I was at risk of putting my hand down on the blade of the scraper when I simply dropped the handle through the existing hole in the ladder shelf. So I created an insert that fits into an existing slot on the shelf to reduce it down to scraper blade width so I can store the scraper handle up. This is a safer way to operate. The insert simply drops into the oval slot on the shelf on the ladder. Update: I added two make pictures.
