Description
This is a disk caddy enclosure designed to expand a standard 5.25-inch drive bay into six 2.5-inch SATA HDD or SSD drives. I designed and developed this solution myself, with no experience. There are no mounting holes on the Drive bay, you can add these yourself if you want. The model is 42 x 120 mm The unit appears to function well in testing and provides a way to increase storage capacity in desktop systems, Such as prebuilt workstations that need more space. Just remove the disk drive and slot this in there. I suggest printing it so that the length of the bay faces upwards to reduce overhangs and the disk caddy flat on the print bed. The arm is inserted onto the disk caddy, and the lid is pressed into place. might be a bit tight, so I used pliers to snap them in. The disk caddy needs to be open once you add it to the bay frame or the lock will prevent it from sliding in. Press in on the arm to lock and pull to open. To use an M2 drive on it you will have to use an m2 to sata adapter. 3.5 inch drives will not fit.
